BritTany B. Kennedy was awarded Gold in the 2025 GEMA Awards (Holiday Category) for her spoken-word piece, “Power of a Morehouse Man,” created for Bounce TV’s HBCU Yearbook Campaign under Scripps Networks.
Kennedy served as writer, creative producer, and editor on the project, shaping the narrative from concept through final execution. She authored an original poetic script honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. not only as a historic figure, but as a young Morehouse student formed by community, mentorship, and cultural inheritance. The work foregrounds the humanity behind the legacy—the becoming before the global icon.
This piece reflects Kennedy’s signature approach: storytelling rooted in Black cultural history and emotional truth, carried with depth, intention, and resonance.
